I’ve been reflecting lately about a trip I took to Denmark and Sweden back in 2014. As it turns out, one of the biggest catch-words of the year and a runner-up for Oxford Dictionary’s Word of the Year 2016 happens to come from Denmark.
"Where have we been?" (you might ask).
Today I walked into the sun and it didn't feel like my enemy. When I was 8 I was at a Dodger game, sitting in the sun, and got a bloody nose because it was the hottest day of the year. Another time, I got such a bad sunburn it left a scar across the bridge of my nose. Just a few years ago I went to Hawaii and got such a bad burn on my legs that it looked like I had been burned by fire.
So I have this book called "California Hiking," circa '94-'95. I recently told myself that I would complete every hike in the book. By a date, a certain time? Nothing that concrete, just that I would finish it. 1000 hikes at my fingertips, all about as current as the Clinton administration.
I've never been in a relationship outside of my species but I am in love with this damn truck.
